New Princess and the Frog Art work

New artwork in the form of sketches and photos have been released by Walt Disney Animation. This artwork gives a deeper impression of the different locations of the movie. The first few sketches give an impression of the wealthy and industrial life in the Southern states, while the other sketches give an impression of the Bayou where Prince Naveen and Tiana have to survive as frogs and where they are struggling to recover their old shapes. Furthermore, it gives us an impression of the houses of both Dr. Facilier and Madame Odie.

Ne-Yo adds song to “Princess and the Frog” movie

Songwriter/composer Ne-Yo is about to get animated in the upcoming Disney Movie “Princess and the Frog”, because he has contributed the song “Never Knew I Needed” to the soundtrack of the movie.

According to reports, the Las Vegas native will also shoot an accompanying video for the song in the coming weeks. The clip will be directed by Melina, who has helmed videos for Beyonce, Whitney Houston and Ciara. A snippet of the song can be heard on the soundtrack page on the Walt Disney Records website.

‘The Princess and the Frog’ soundtrack is due out November 23, while the film opens in December 11 in U.S. theaters.

First Five Minutes of Princess and the Frog Movie Leaked

The first five minutes of the opening scene of the upcoming movie “Princess and the Frog” were leaked to the media. The movie starts in the beautiful mansion of La Bouff in historic New Orleans, where a young Tiana and Charlotte La Bouff are listening to the story about “the Prince and the Frog” told by Eudora, Tiana’s mother. Ironically, Tiana tells her mother that she would never kiss a frog, while her friend mocks her by trying to make Tiana kiss her transformed Frog puppet. One can definitely see that the montage of the movie is not finalized yet, given the lack of color in the scene with James, Eudora and Tiana. This clip gives us all a sense of joy and warmth, that is reminiscent of the old Disney Classics. I have a strong sense that the movie could become more popular than most analysts and studios are projecting and will be important to Disney’s new Renaissance of classic hand-drawn 2D movies, because of the audacity to use black people as main characters and the wonderful combination of music, joy, characters and story line, that hasn’t been enjoyed by large audiences since the Lion King and Aladdin.

People might still be debating about whether Princess Tiana from Disney’s upcoming movie release ”The Princess and the Frog” should be marrying a brother instead of a white prince, but beauty company Carol’s Daughter didn’t waste any time jumping on board.

They’ve created a line of products for every princess in the world called “The Magical Beauty Collection” as a celebration of Princess Tiana, hard work, multiethnic beauty and universal acceptance.

Carol’s Daughter started in Brooklyn inside founder Lisa Price’s kitchen and is now one of the country’s most recognizable African-American beauty brands. Aside from Lisa Price, the brand has some A-list investors such as celebs Jay-Z, Steve Stoute, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mary J Blige. Lisa Price told TheYBF.com:

“This moment has been a long time coming, and I’m so honored to be a part of something with such significant social importance. I’m thrilled that young African-Americans everywhere will see the movie and see someone to identify with, someone to be proud of, and someone to emulate. Princess Tiana will tell African-American women, young and old, that they can be beautiful and successful by being themselves and working hard—a powerful message that can’t be underestimated.”

‘The Princess and the Frog’ riverboat show coming to Disneyland, Disney World

Tiana's Showboat Jubilee at Disneyland and Disney World

Disneyland and Walt Disney World plan to add a Mardi Gras-style musical cavalcade called Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee for the 2009 holiday season, according to theme park officials.

The jazz-infused “riverboat extravaganza” will debut at Disney World on Oct. 26 and Disneyland on Nov. 6. Both shows will run through Jan. 3.

Tied to the upcoming “The Princess and the Frog” hand-drawn animated movie, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee will feature a procession of jazzy musicians and performers parading through New Orleans Square at Disneyland and Frontierland at Disney World.

As the “second-line” procession reaches the Rivers of America dock, a group of pre-selected theme park visitors will board the waiting riverboat (the Mark Twain at Disneyland and the Liberty Belle at Disney World) where Princess Tiana and other “The Princess and the Frog” characters will greet them.

After departing, the riverboat will stop along the riverfront for a performance including songs from the film. The show will be repeated several times a day, with viewing areas along the waterfront.

Mice Age reports that the pre-selected riverboat riders will be able to pose for photos and get autographs from Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and Louis the singing alligator after the performance.

“The Princess and the Frog,” a Jazz Age story featuring Disney’s first African American princess and set in New Orleans’ French Quarter, opens in theaters Dec. 11.

The original story by the brothers Grimm: “The Frog Prince”

The Frog Prince

One fine evening a young princess put on her bonnet and clogs, and
went out to take a walk by herself in a wood; and when she came to a
cool spring of water, that rose in the midst of it, she sat herself
down to rest a while. Now she had a golden ball in her hand, which was
her favourite plaything; and she was always tossing it up into the
air, and catching it again as it fell. After a time she threw it up so
high that she missed catching it as it fell; and the ball bounded
away, and rolled along upon the ground, till at last it fell down into
the spring. The princess looked into the spring after her ball, but it
was very deep, so deep that she could not see the bottom of it. Then
she began to bewail her loss, and said, ‘Alas! if I could only get my
ball again, I would give all my fine clothes and jewels, and
everything that I have in the world.’

Whilst she was speaking, a frog put its head out of the water, and
said, ‘Princess, why do you weep so bitterly?’ ‘Alas!’ said she, ‘what
can you do for me, you nasty frog? My golden ball has fallen into the
spring.’ The frog said, ‘I want not your pearls, and jewels, and fine
clothes; but if you will love me, and let me live with you and eat
from off your golden plate, and sleep upon your bed, I will bring you
your ball again.’ ‘What nonsense,’ thought the princess, ‘this silly
frog is talking! He can never even get out of the spring to visit me,
though he may be able to get my ball for me, and therefore I will tell
him he shall have what he asks.’ So she said to the frog, ‘Well, if
you will bring me my ball, I will do all you ask.’ Then the frog put
his head down, and dived deep under the water; and after a little
while he came up again, with the ball in his mouth, and threw it on
the edge of the spring. As soon as the young princess saw her ball,
she ran to pick it up; and she was so overjoyed to have it in her hand
again, that she never thought of the frog, but ran home with it as
fast as she could. The frog called after her, ‘Stay, princess, and
take me with you as you said,’ But she did not stop to hear a word.
